writing:

under_score are proud to present Dave Huismans aka A Made Up Sound aka 2562. Hailing from the Dutch electronic heartland of Den Haag, Dave's debut releases have taken both the dubstep and techno worlds by storm. He is currently creating some of the most exciting and convincing fusions of the two sounds heard to date, and his music has won acclaim from top djs in both scenes.

Huismans will showcase both his recording aliases; A Made Up Sound for Subsolo records in Berlin (an offshoot of Shed's Soloaction label) and 2562 for Pinch's Bristol based Tectonic, in a special 2 hour set which will move from deep techno to dubstep.

His futuristic and energetic sound fuses raw Maurizio style dub techno, the percussive, skipping drum programming of 2-step, lush Detroit synths and of course the deepest and heaviest submerged bass to shake your bones.

Those who witnessed 2562 at the massive Subloaded dance in October will know first hand his prowess at moving the dancefloor and if you missed it, here is your second chance.

In support we have a selection of Bristol's finest techno djs; Jim Petherwick, Luke Malcher, Placid ( under_score ) playing the hottest electronic sounds around.

I'm considering going to this - I love 2562, but am not sure that I'd be into an entire night of techno.

What's the sound system like?

Also, if anyone can kindly suggest some decent (clean, secure, near transport) hostel accomodation in Bristol, that would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers.

under_score has a pretty broad spectrum of sounds on offer and won't be techno all night - we lean on the deep and dubby side of things.

the soundsystem is more than good enough - H.E.N.C.H. use the tube and as far as i know don't add any extra speakers - its also intimate club (150 capacity) - i don't know if your be able to see 2562 in a club that size in the future.

also this hostel might be up your street - right in the centre and 5 minutes from the club...

Hey, thanks for the tips there mate - I just might make the journey, because I am definately feeling the 2562 right now, and a series of dubby (would it be stuff like Andy Stott/Modern Love and such?) selections to boot sounds the go.

Just gotta decide whether to go to this, or Ruffneck Diskotek the next week - or both?!

Thanks again for the detailed tips on the accom. Cheers.

andy stott played together with pinch for an under_score in january last year - his sound is very much what we're about.

Hmmm...it looks like its going to be a mission to reach this.

Just want to confirm, there is no chance that this would sell out before the night? (are you doing pre-sold tickets, or is it just on the door on the night?)

Thanks!

no pre tickets sadly.

but if you get to the club before 11 there shouldn't be a problem - although it does get busy after that.

cheers.

Cool.

Can anyone fill me in on likely set times. I have to book my bus back to LDN, and don't want to leave in the middle of 2562s set if he is playing last.

thanks!
