Up until now I've been using my stereo speakers for monitoring. I think to take it to the next level I need to get myself some decent monitors. Don't know what to go for (active/passive etc...) What are people out there using? Any recomends?

im using some active m1 alesis monitors. theyre alright but i think they r more suited to those with a wack job and pay. theyre not bad, if u know how to use em theyre nice, they are around the 200 pound range but theyre representation of bass seems to always be more then u need when u got ur final mix on. so u gotta know em well

cheap: Fostex PM1

pro: Dynaudio or Genelec

always go for active or your just going to colour your sound with the amp you choose

don't buy subs unless you have a proper studio and/or large knowledge of acoustics

that's all there is to it :D
