Soca - (soul calypso), modern calypso (alot of 4x4 rhythms) form Trinidad & Tobago.

I have actually thought a lot about fusing Soca and Dubstep, however have only made it work with UKG. There´s something to the "feel" and beats of Dubstep (especially the half tempo stuff) that´s doesn´t quite fit soca.

I had a listen to you tune: wicked intro, nice beat and samples, but the bass line doesn´t really do anything for me, mate. Reckon the bass line ought to be more "dustep-like", and keep the beats "soca".

Bless!

I think will sound interesting if you follow 2000F's advices.
All about the fusion. Would love to listen what's coming.
Peace

Wobblebass with steel drums sounds like a cool idea ? So who's big in the soca world ?

BTW, go to the Notting Hill Carnival if you want proper Soca and steel pan drum clashes. Insanse! :)

Check Surgery on Digital's (dubby dnb producer of legend) myspace.

Very soca. And while you're there have a listen to rifle riddim. 8)

nice one! although it sounds IMHO not too different from traditional soca. where's the dub in here...? nethertheless nice samples, got the same on my boss 202 :) and last but not least a tight riddim! work on! can't wait to hear the finished one!

Rude boy soca is big. There has been plenty of dub in the step, ie Jamaican influence so far, but not enuff small islan' flava!
big up Mitchells hot pepper sauce

A couple skream tunes sound like soca, the ladies love it!!!

may the 4's be with you
