Nah sorry mate, that's bullshit. I'm getting them mixed up with another band whose name escapes me.
Still worth checking them out if you're into metal that's a bit... different.

check out Isis - not 100% instrumental but the vocal work is minimal for the most part. there's a forthcoming Burial remix of one of their new tracks and Venetian Snares has previously done one.
very heavy sludgy metal but not as drawn out as Sunn O)))
i love 'em.

Pelican and Capricorns do heavy instrumental rock music, not sure if you'd call it metal though. 'Jerusalem' by Sleep is a wicked one-track, 50odd-minutes long stoner album, which is almost all instrumental

Earth. Sunn 0))) would never have existed if not for Earth. Earth 2 is about the heaviest record ever.
"Sleep's Holy Mountain" - Legendary.

A lot of Boris isn't instrumental though. And since the guy who started the thread already said he doesn't like Sunn 0)) doubt he'd be in to absoluteego much

Man what you need is
Edge of Sanity - Crimson
Tis a 60 minute or so instrumental album that is just one progressive song.. all performed and recorded by one man. Dan Swanno...
Fucking epic shit, I strongly suggest you find this album if you can
Oh and one Metal instrumental which isn't quite as death as edge of sanity is that song "Metallica - Orion" very dope

highly recommend Gordian Knot.
I think Behold...The Arctopus are mainly intrumental too, but I prefer Gordian Knot's songwriting.

Ministry - Psalm 69 should do the trick. Has some absolutely tearing tunes, especially "TV II" and "Jesus Built My Hotrod".
