I'm a big fan, but saying that I've only got Black Woman and Child, Da Real Thing and Praise Ye Jah. Got various bits and pieces downloaded but generally its difficult to know what albums are good and what albums aren't...
Any proper Sizzla heads recommend me other albums by Kalonji, also any good versions off riddim compilations?
Danke schon

children of jah is pretty great
edit: and as for versions of riddims, 'nuh business' on red bull and guinness is fantastic, really, really
and 'too much gang war' on the gang war riddim is excellent as well (see also: mavado - 'me and my dogs'
hope that helps

I quite like some Sizzla records I've heard, but saw him at Dour last year and it was the best performance I've ever seen in my life. The most amazing band that did live pull ups on cue, and Sizzla was so hype. It was powerful. I dont think anything i've heard on record has compared.

my personal favourite is:
sizzla - dem a try a ting
on the version of the stealing riddim from about 7 or 8 years back
some of his stuff is excellent, but especially recently imo some stuff aint that great; there's so so much of it though;
and avoid his dylan cover at all costs
to be honest, i dont think he does much these days on a par with black woman and child

What time of year?
Seems like loads of the big dancehall/reggae stars who are banned from the UK for crimes against Peter Tatchell perform in Germany/Belgium etc. instead. Would like to see a few of them.

I dont think that's why they're playing in germany/belgium, there's a big scene in belgium which always attracts big names irrespective of them coming to the uk or not; i'm wanting to get to summerjam in cologne one year, it's ridiculously good and well priced

Yeah sorry didn't mean it like that
I meant- I can't see them in the UK so maybe belgium/germany would be the ticket

Basically all you need is the Story Unfolds album...all essential sizzla tunes.
Oh and 'Why' and 'Den Why' are fresh as well

Dour is from 17 till 20 July this year. It is the best festival in Belgium since many years, though a bit overpopulated last years. Each year there are some quality reggae/dancehall gigs, check the history on the official dourfestival site. See u there

Try Sizzla's "Life" album....er 2004 I think. I like that one a lot! Stay In Tune and Jah Love, nice and beautiful

Oh and Aint That Nice....that tune gets stuck in my head all day...

If you like the Gruff Sizzla sound then I highly recommend 'Renegade' on the Renegade Riddim which itself is such a tough riddim track.
also 'pump up' on the 'buzz' riddim. kinda homophobic and I think it's the tune that stopped him getting a uk visa.
My blind eye doesn't see this and the fact that he called for the burning of white people in Jamaica because the sound rather than content sounds so good on the ear.
a word with my open eye, perhaps I need.
anyway.
Achingly singing Sizzla:
'Be Strong' on the drop leaf riddim. Such a good tune
all demonstrate the vocal mastery of Kolonji. shame about his outlook.
