sorry to sound negative, but is it just me who in this scene isnt feeling this overdark/deathmetal clashy sound going on by select producers?? I tried to dig it but cant... especially those dubstep tunes that directly sample deathmetal and make a dubstep tune out of it. that sound in my opinion, is not dubstep.

Im sure some out there are like who am i to tell what is dubstep, but i listen to dubstep becuase its:

1. good "headnodding" music
2. a style of music where u can just "vibe" to it or dance to.
3. its highly influenced by two of my fav. genres: dnb and dub reggae
4. it has a "chopped and screwed" vibe on certain tunes and can be easily accessible by people of colour, urban ethnicities, reggae and dub fans, junglists, and folks open minded enough to listen to experimental music.

how is deathmetal dub?
oh, and by the way... I love death metal but dont like it in dubstep. it drives me crazy!! a dubby track and a hard on death metal grinding track dont mix!!

anyone agree or disagree??

i'm starting to dislike the overly dark tunes

but i'm also tired of dubby (reggae) tunes.

and i'm tired of the "chopped and screwed" stuff (although matty g's first release is still a fucking banger because it was so original)

a certain "dj" killed a lot of people's interest for hip-hop/rap influenced tunes.

we don't need gimmicks to make the sound "acceptable." you either like it or you don't. take it at face value and don't water it down.

im not tired of the dubby tracks becuase after all it is called dubstep but i do kinda agree on the chopped and screwed vibe to a certain extent. some tracks it can work well. we just dont need that sound to be congested and clogged up for the sake of doing so.

There is a pretty simple solution to your problem. Don't listen to / support the music you don't like. Big up the stuff you do like. I don't really see the need for threads like this. Do you think people will quit making the music that they enjoy because you don't like it? I dunno, I think this thread deserves a

Edit and oh 15 posts... how bout a few more

Yeah the trend of sampling reggae vocals appeared much later.

Exactly, why listen to something you don't like? It's not like anyone forces you to it I hope..

In that case, there is a pretty simple solution to your problem. Don't read / comment on the threads you don't like. Stick to the threads you do like. I don't really see the need for posts like yours.

Seriously. You may want to live in some spangly, happy-clappy world where nobody ever says nasty words about the things you like, but please don't assume that everyone else wants to live there, too.
