Definitely, loved cLOUDDEAD especially but guess they were never actually on anticon. The 2 new odd nosdam albums are stunners - everyone should really check them out. Shame they seem to be content to put out a lot of rubbish as well at the moment.

I used to love Anticon but since i stopped smoking skunk ive really gone off that kind of dark, introspective, abstract Hip Hop. The Deep puddle Dynamics thing i used to play all the time. Strange how drugs change the listening experience. :?

Huge Anticon fan. The Hymie's Basement record is one of my all time favourites. I love a bit of Why? aswell, thoguh I'm still not so sure about his new one.

no; imo (and it is only an opinion) it just sounds like hiphop with the funk/soul taken out, and not much lyrical/rapping ability;

give me gang starr, wu, etc any day

This CD still gets some serious playtime over here:

It was playing at a local music store, and I just had to buy it.

yeah i was gonna say something there also. as much as i respect and listen to guru,wu and the back in the day stuff, the lyrical skill of some of the anticon stuff is unbelievable and kinda hard to compare to more traditional stuff anyway. completely different approach all round.

right, mebbe more "not lyrics/style i'm into";
shouldn't knock them too much, cant say i've heard loads, just not really my thing
and i do sometimes get anticon and def jux mixed up;

but certainly the one i've heard most is sage francis, and with him i dont think the lyrics flow as well as stuff im into;

however, just my opinion, each to their own

listen to the album non prophets-hope, it's a group by sage francis with joe beats and dj mekalek, it's really boombappy and i think people who don't like his other work would dig it, it's not on anticon though

I like why?'s herby indie-rock direction.

the controller7 remix of rain men is their finest moment

I was always a bigger fan of the producers than the mcs.

anticon is the bomb.
Ah used to listen to alot of this and lexicon stuff in the day

Alias was always a favourite- "under my tongue"- sick tune, and divine disappointment i always thought had really clever lyrics even if it was a bit shit in its composition

anticon's head was on it as well wasn't he? But I can't remember his name- although i remmembered he was ginger and could rap FAST.

used to love anticon. picked up the label sampler in a bargain shop completely on a whim and it was the best accidental buy ever :)

haven't listened to anything by them for ages though. they still releasing? the last few things i heard were going a bit downhill imho

loved this album. the scarecrow talks started off an obsession with crows in music heh
