i'm relatively new to dubstep and didnt get here through dnb/garage, so it was one of my first jungle and drum n bass encounters. crazy stuff

i was there.

best sets of the weekend for me were kage on the real detroit stage, nitzer ebb on the mainstage, and bryan zentz and neil landstrumm (live) at one of the many afterparties...

word. time will tell ... guess its just they are more mainstream known styles, dubstep is still in its dawning. Look how long it took for jungle / D&B to become accepted - a good few years.

Isn't DEMF organised by Carl Craig?

I reckon he'd be feeling dubstep.

Carl Craig is one of the biggest nutters ive ever met, sick dj though and a truely defining member of the techno forefathers!

no this year's movement/demf or whatever they call it next was run by paxahau. It was originally run by CC but he got kicked out a few years ago I think, or left after having enough of all the in fighting that seems to go on when it gets organised.

Hart Plaza, the main stage is the big amphitheatre, then there are three smaller more around top and a larger one underground

I was there. Heard two dubstep tracks throughout the weekend... both in the Real Detroit stage.

Jared Wilson played a Digital Mystikz track and while Otto Von Shirach was setting up they played a Vex'd tune.

Yea boy Otto was the shit. Whud up to the eventual decline partied all 3 days at the festival and moves to the U.K. for good 6 hours later. We miss you bruv! Photek played and I caught about 10 min's of his set in the underground stage after planet of the drums. The sound system sucked down there and it was blazin hot so I checked out some other biz. DEMF is always really cool though. Checked out Chemlab that was cool as well. I like the variety at the real detroit stage. Very bummed on the lack of dubstep. They just don't know. For lineup check out demf.com
