I think some one should get a petition going for myspace to stop compressing tracks evevn more when you upload a song. By the time you upload a 192 or wotever u upload it sounds crushe and the George Michael thing is you cant upload over 10mb even if you wanted to upload a 320, unless you make your tracks like 3 mintues long!!!!!!!!!!

You can easily replace the player by another one and upload the tracks the quality you want...
Insert this piece of code at the very top or end of your myspace biography section to get rid of the old player (it just takes it out of the screen so auto-play just not be activated):
<style>embed, object {width:0px; height:0px;} table table table embed, table table table object {width:320px; height:240px;} </style>
Create an account and upload your 320s there:
http://www.fileden.com/
Select a player there, link to your tunes and copy the output code to biography section again:

that code is a great fix to docwra's problem, but a big part of the reason the myspace player is valuable is because it counts plays, takes comments, can be added to other profiles, etc. what i wish they'd do is give everyone a set amount of storage space. that way, you could have 20 clips, 5 mediocre songs, one or two high quality songs, etc. maybe the space could grow based on plays/friends/ranking, so you earn your way to having a lot of stuff up.
sometime i wish i could just slap some sense into tom. tell him to cut the 1984 bullshit. seen one of these screens yet?
last i checked, this is the internet, and when i'm in the privacy of my own home, i'm allowed to click anything i damn well want. tsk tsk.

that appears for links that have information exposing myspace owner rupert murdock and/or his business associates (bildeberger, illuminati) and/or the crimes they are committing and intend to commit, as made possible by past crimes commited by their fathers, and their fathers before them, and which are carried out and put in action by their goons, of course. the formula doesnt work without a lot of goons and sheep.
tom doesnt even exist, and never did. myspace was originally programmed by the best black ops programmers to create a data surveillance and filtration system.
as blaze said, virb FTW
myspace is also a prime example of masonic geomancy. The layout of every single backend window in the system is made to addict you to your own despairing depression. myspace makes me feel like SHIT every time without fail, more than looking at any other geometrical arrangement, ever. the menus and functionality also play a big role in making you frustrated.

The only inconvience as TheDeadMethod said is there's no counter.
However I believe if your tunes are good and you advertise them well enough, they'll get noticed.

I don't know if Virb always did this (don't think they did), but I know for a fact that everything is now re-compressed to 96kbps variable bit rate @ 44.1kHz. MySpace converts to 96kbps constant bit rate at 22.1kHz. The main difference is that Virb let's you host more songs.
The difference in the sample rate is what kills the quality on MySpace.

this kind of seems like a good idea, but then, when u consider that anyone with wiretap or hijack can grab yr 320s, it might b worth thinking about carefully b4 putting yr entire back catalogue up for free download.
plenty of ppl dont put whole tracks on myspace just cos of this, while others argue that if sum1 wants to hijack a shitty ultra compressed mp3 they r welcome to it...but a 320 is another matter entirely.
sumthing 2 consider anyway

Thats class.
I have wondered about the whole rupert murdoch/myspace/phishing thing myself.
Like, do you think homes really gives a shit about our online safety? Or if one of our computers get a fuckin virus through MySpace?
I don't think so. I think all those warnings are a smokescreen to make us feel more secure.
The geomancy thing you mentioned is interesting. I thought it mostly applied to buildings (thats the kind of research I have been doing lately.), Now that you bring this up, I will have to take a closer look at things.
Nice to know someone else is on the watch for these things.

was waiting for a reply to that
Yeah, dont take what I said TOOOO seriously...
(I'm serious but the non-chalant tone I took was my intended humor...)
geomancy can be arranging a bouquet of flowers. It uses angles colors and shapes to affect the human psyche. Advertisement uses loads of geomancy as well. The 'myspace derived from masonic geomancy' is my own theory. I put it together when I realised how much funding they have to make it look so shitty, on top of how depressing it is to use. Maybe most people can ignore this, and I am learning how. But seriously: it's disorganized angular chaos for a VERY good reason. The 'Tom doesn't exist' thing is something I have heard from a reliable source. Dont take my word on that

. But it has influenced my geomancy theory. The 'owned by rupert murdock' thing speaks for itself. Look at his connections and loyalties, and put 2 and 2 together. (2+2=4)
even if none of this is true, you can bet your ass myspace and anything else under murdocks name is trying to censor information on the new world order.
cheers!
