Ez, all crew

I´m back with another free 320kbps mp3 tune for your bass pleasure.

OBEAH (artist) - THE YELL OF THE SPIRIT (title)
written, engineered and produced by 2000F
20006
Copenhagen, Denmark

listen link (320 kbps):

download link (320 kbps):

"... This is a yell. A yell of the spirit, we often call it CHIA!
Chia is key energy - mind energy or soul energy. It is the energy of the spirit. That´s what´s important to ninja - strong spirit!"

Let me know what you think, I reckon I´ve got hearing fatigue at the moment. The bass in this tune is DEEEEEEEEEP. Not your typical Dubstep stormer as I usually do them, rather a more mellow but deep sub riddim (for a future b-side maybe?). Let me know what you think please.

Bless up!

Andy... I'm pretty sure that you would still be one of those people who we'd want to give music to anyway. That in mind, buy a damn record player :D

As for you, 2000f... take a look at that Avatar you have there. I'm definately certain that we are fairly interested. I could be wrong though.

fantastic track, excellent groove, spacious, tight and hard all at the same time. The snares have a good balance between snappy-ness and reverb.

I like the weird musicality of the intro.

The sub is very nice, very well defined.

BTW, you mean I shouldn´t give them away anymore? I can´t figure what´s best to do, but I would love to get some feedback and comments business-wise regarding this subject please.

it sounds to me like some ppl here want you to give your tunes to them, but not to anyone else... wtf?! i say do what feels right to you. you're after feedback right now, and you want to get your name out and recognized and your music heard. giving out your tunes is the best way to do this imo. yes, it will most likely have the effect that a label will be less likely to sign the particular tune you've given out, but on the other hand it will make it more likely that the label will hear your shit in the first place. if someone with a real label approaches you and says, "let me hear your new shit BEFORE you give it out to everybody from now on - i might like to sign some of it," then by all means go for it. but if that person only wants the tunes so that they have something exclusive that other ppl don't have, then that's actually hurting you, and is in fact NOT achieving what you want - for ppl to hear your music!

but maybe i completely misunderstood what you're after...... :?:

@ Your are right about my intetions, mate. Spot on.

However, I don´t think that you are right the ones suggesting my tunes houldn´t be for free. What I understand is that they reckon I ought to consider giving away lo-q or mp3 streams instead of 320kbps mp3´s. Mainly because, as you also mention, that labels might not be as willing to sign my free productions. I´m not sure what is best, however I have to keep thanking you all for support, commments, feedback and sharing your thoughts and experiences. It´s appreciated - trus! And the only other thing that I´m 100% sure off, is the fact that I´ll continue due the Danish invasion of Dubstep! ;)

Big respekt to everyone!

If the tracks are hot, then labels will want it. You're giving yourself great publicity this way, and providing the less known DJs on this forum with some unreleased shit for their sets.

Consider these MP3s like demo tapes. Back in the day, I'd burn demo CD-Rs with artwork and pass them off to DJs, and often they'd reward me with airplay.

Keep it up. You're getting noticed.

Still think that "Karma" track from the pack of Dubs you gave me was sick as hell. Your own tracks are fierce and will definately be getting some airtime and whatnot. I have no doubts that you will be seeing some of your tunes on wax soon.

Wicked, mate.

Thanks for the positive comments, and I´m really glad that you like it. Actually it might have been my collection of spring reverbs and tape echos (incl. the Schaller Echo Sound) but it´s actually all Reason (believe or not)! :)

I´ve done some basic mastering, this is how I have recorded it:

Reason rewired into Pro Tools HD -> Tube-Tech SSA 2A summing amp -> DISA (Danish 1950´s) stereo valve limiter -> Manley Massive Passive stereo valve eq -> SSL Stereo Compressor -> into Pro Tools HD (with "soft limit" on). Then exported in Pro Tools with UA LA-2A + Digidesign Maxim plug-ins. Expensive chain, very expensive. But it sounds amasing!
