yeah i agree. The 1st 5-6 albums are really good but after about Dark Side Of The Moon it all gets a lottle po faced and boring. I think live at Pompai is the best thing they did. Thas a wicked little film.

I really like all the odd Syd Barrett stuff, not as keen on their subsequent stuff, although i always like a few tracks off all the albums.

Getting very VERY mashed and watching this is a very fun thing to do indeed.

Same here, liked it a lot with Syd involved, some of the later stuff is ok, had to listen to it quite some when younger because my father is a fan.

I was lucky enough to catch them on "The Delicate Sound Of Thunder" tour way back in the day.Amazing musicianship. Also,David Gilmour is an influence in my guitar playing.

So,I like both incarnations, though partial to the Syd Barrett era because his solo music was really dark, yet beautiful. All Pink Floyd's stuff had a huge impact on the postpunk, deathrock, goth, apocalyptic folk, and shoegaze scenes as well. But Syd's solo material had something that David Gilmour and Roger Waters just didn't quite get.Maybe it was all the acid, but it sounded genuine. In fact,Slowdive's version of "Golden Hair" is just as sad and pretty as the original, but way swirlier, and captured a brilliance in the tune that a lot of people who hear the original would not pick up on due to the folky minimalism of it.

Have to aggree with Wiggle here - as good as dub side of the moon is, doesn't compare to the genius of the original.

I feel that Dark Side of the Moon is one of those vastly overrated albums, as I much prefer Animals, Wish You Were Here etc..It is the same with Sgt Peppers for the Beatles, where as Rubber Soul and Revolver were far better albums.

Got Animals on vinyl the other day for 60p at a fair! Quality.

I do love Dark Side of the Moon though, even more so after hearing it live!
