Don't get me wrong, MACs are big on road but why are a lot of MAC users so up tight about em?

So I was chatting to my mate who asked what I have been doing all night (since its 6am and I don't see this time ever, unless ive been up all night) and I said making a tune, taking its time to export...

And she went.

??????

So I said... "Oh sorry doesn't MAC allow you to export stuff?" (joking around cause she always says I am a pathetic windows user..)

And she went.. "You know what, fuck you, i'm blocking you till you learn how to respect MAC's"

Yeah I got a reallllllllllly old MAC collecting dust, I don't have the room for it, this is about those REALLY hardcore fans who think if you don't have a MAC you suck at life..

i use both as well

prefer Macs but i cant be completely biased...

Mac = video editing, motion graphics and graphic design mainly

PC = 3D graphics, compositing, some graphic design and internet

Apple for FCP & Shake, PC for doing everything else. I'd have an apple if they didn't cost so much and they didn't keep changing processors etc. That debacle when they first started with Quad Cores and half your software wouldn't work really fucked me off. They fucked it up and then they make you pay for updates to get FCP working again, and half our other software still didn't work.

This was with G5 Quad core. From what I'm told they're a lot nicer running on the Intel chips, though you can't cook your breakfast on them anymore. I dunno, give with one hand and take with the other...

if you pay for your quicktime license you can export nearly anything even wmv's. most people don't realize this. it's only a £15 license.

QT Pro is a great bit of software, the recent releases have been woeful though. How can software with so many bugs get past quality control? Rendering to quicktime and finding out it's fucked with the gamma is not the one.

they make everyone update the license every few versions. it's been a few years now since they made you upgrade.

i can see the issues with video, as there are so many standards now it's not even funny. i know first hand about it between the new 720p and 1080p thing. exporting flv, wmv, mp4, mov, mpeg is dead easy though.

at my last job we used this and it's heavy as...

I've been on pcs my whole life. Switched to a Mac about 2 years ago and haven't looked back. I really think the only drawback is games which I don't really play.

and it's Mac not MAC... get it right and respect that shit!!!!

Fair play to you all enjoying your "Mac" (;) ) but would you seriously stop talking to someone (not like I care, I thought she was a bit of a tnuc, you know those people you keep on your MSN to talk to when no one is on and when you bump into them, say something what kills the convasation and walk off....) cause they said a sarcastic, non-offensive comment? Ive known like, 4 "Mac" users like this, I thought it was common :o

I have had the same experience ...maybe not to the point of not talking to someone again...i think it comes w/ the "smug" factor that was inherent b4 the little apple came along

i prefer PCs because they have two mouse buttons and fewer gimmicks.
and of course, you can't play any decent games on mac and they look stupid.
