My first encounter with dubstep was "The Bug" by Skream which I put on a mixtape back in 04. Then I carried on with trax like "Roll That Shit" by Dub Child and "B" by Digital Mystikz. But to be honest it wasn't untill I heard "Midnight Request Line" that I was completely hooked on dubstep...

plasticman's studio mix from earlier this year with the grime and dubstep mashed up was what got me into all of this. tunes like 'section 7' and 'cha'... after that it was the breezeblock dubstep warz that just completely shattered my mind. too many heavy tunes, but i think the absolute killers for me are loefah's 'mud' and 'system'. straight homicide!

i was more into grime when i started listenin to dubstep in 04 but many dirt producers stepped up in the last couple years and the above tunes are some of those which made me realise

Does Oris Jay/ Darqwan count as dubstep?
been keeping my eye on the darker sub-lo bass grimey sound since It came out of 2 step.
Couldn't name a single track but 'midnight request line' definately made me pay more attention. and the whole dmz thing. Maybe Horsepower Productions.
Fuck it. I don't have an answer.

The first dubstep records I bought we're Vex'd - Pop Pop / Canyon and Darqwan - Said The Spider VIP so I guess it's one of those 2, mostly the vex'd though.
