Buying online from Boomkat and waiting a week for delivery just isn't the same as GOING to the record store like, RIGHT NOW DAMNIT!!!
Your help is greatly appreciated.

no idea but if you're buying online use redeye. it's much better. it's cheaper, quicker delivery, and you can reserve records to send them all out in one order to save on postage

what he said^.
none of the nyc stores have current stock anymore. redeye and boomkat are the ones. if you want old stock then check kim's video on st marks and 3rd ave, or turntablelab on east 7th street.

What about that Halcyon joint?
Can youy beleive that at one point in my life, I was going to let a record store determine which city I lived in!!
Those little 30 sec sound clips on the internet weren't enough for me to decide..I still don't have decent speakers on my computer..
All this is a mute point if you can buy $100 worth of records every 2 weeks..you can just own everything that sounds slightly good and sort later..

Last time i went into Halcyon (last August to be exact) they were like d-d-d-dubstep??? What's that??
They've always been a House-oriented store anyway.

The Breakbeat Science store closed a while back, but they still do online sales out of Chicago.
They really don't have a very upfront selection of dubstep, though (unless that's changed in the last few months).

So what I'm gathering here is there are NO record stores in New York City that carry a fresh supply of dubstep on vinyl.
That. Is. Surprising.
Dub War DJ's...you're getting your stuff directly from labels/other hookups/travels abroad then?
I understand there is little demand for this stuff and even less so on vinyl but...still. The 12's are expensive enough w/o having to pay shipping too.
And I don't even play outside of my living room. Just a fan.
My point?
Dubstep vinyl and Tupperware Party at my crib every Friday. Refreshments will be served.

I actually connected with this guy on a completely different, non dubstep tip.. he asked me what i did.... i said "i spin records ... the style is called dubstep" and he said "oh word? .. check my ebay store" .. haha.
Missoula is a dope spot... best small city in the world if you are into that whole peace and love, rainbow tribe-vibe type thing.

no doubt. i've spent time in missoula and other parts...kalispell, bozeman. beautiful country up there. but yeah, ear candy. bought war002 from him. aerial. pinch. disrupt 10"s. he knows his dubstep. alright...
...pack your bags kids, we're moving to montana!

I ordered records from them a month ago, and according to the shipping tracker info, the records left NYC and went to Jersey City first. I live about 60 miles west of Chicago, so this seems a little odd to me if they were shipping from Chicago.
I ordered the Breakbeat Science records like 3 days before ordering records from Chemical. Curiously, I got records from London before I got my records from NYC, even when the NYC records had a three day head start. Also, shipping costs from BBS were 5 bucks, while shipping was 2 pounds from Chemical, which equals about 4 dollars.
My point? Even if you live stateside, it's still better to order from Chemical or RedEye.
