Id just stick to 1 or 2 synths and learn them inside out. To be fair absynth pisses over all them other synths u meantioned so beat top use that imo. I use absynth, z3ta, albino, pentagon sometimes and thats it. If you want original, twsited and interesting basss its about resampling and processing

to add to what docwra said, it's more important to understand HOW to synthesise as opposed to WHAT you are synthesising with.
basic knowledge of what you are actually doing will go a long way

wise words. Learn your equipment and you'll go a long way.

....it's a forum people can make new threads. why post in here if all your going to do is complain? If we all used the search there would be no new posts because 99% or dubstep production has already been covered in this forum.

Why post in here if its already been done? I'm sorry for complaining but people should be using the search fuction to prevent this repetitive tripe. The last few weeks i've come on here i've seen questions and recommendations that many previous posts have answered sufficiently. I'm not exactly an old G in this forum but I went to the trouble of searching for stuff like this which wastes peoples time. I think more people should too.

Using the search function is just common courtesy,...
if you are still not sure, then posting something along the lines of:
I researched and came up with this and that so far, do you guys think I understood this correctly is a good way of avoiding this type of reactions..
Never forget that the tons of good advice people have given and will be giving depend on intelligent questions, or maybe rather on interesting ones...
not an old G myself just been using the .net for some time

Reaktor is probably one of the best, simply for the diverse sounds you can get with all the different synths for it, and other crazyness.
I would say that is a core element to any electronic music.
Absynth is very good but worth finding tutorials for.
Massive is good.
Circle looks good (demo out now), especially for new people with synthesis.
Predator is good as well.
One thing I looked out for a lot is the abilitly to 'randomise' at the press of a button, or the ability to merge and randomise patches together. Its a fun way of coming up with unique sounds, and you can learn along the way too.
