Any chance of DMZ represses?

I know repressing tunes can be a sore topic, but there's so many people looking for the early DMZ releases. I've been looking every day for months now with the only copies available being on Ebay. I can understand the early whites going for £30+ (which is still amazing for a tune realeased only two years ago), but even 'Officer' which was released less than a year ago is up to £22 with time left. It could easily cost £100+ to collect the first 3.

So what do you say? Should tunes like these be repressed for the benefit of people just getting going? Or is it a case of tough luck, ebay or nothing?

I'm in the same position as you Skrapes; when I finally came to the decision to invest my money in dubstep records, the earlier DMZs were nowhere to be found. I was lucky to find Goat Stare in a local indie record shop, but I can't find 004 and 005 anywhere - and neither can others, based on the prices they're going for on eBay! It would be nice to think that the people who missed out first time round would get an opportunity to get hold of them, but who knows...

Best bet is to keep an eye out. You never know what luck you may have- i found a second copy of DMZ 2 on Ebay as it was listed as DMZ white label with no mention of the digital mystikz so the price stayed low.

The prices for their early tunes seem to be rising all the time. I would expect similar stuff to happen to Hyperdub releases among others as well.

DMZ 002 just hit £40. I think it'll go over £50.

That's stupid money for such a new 12". You could be looking at £100 for these two today.

How much are you prepared to pay for a single vinyl you want bad?

I'm a bad boy. I will accept my punishment gracefully, with a big fat skank.

init mate. I wonder how many people who bought the first couple of releases actually want to hold on to their copy as well - there must be some peeps who would be prepared to sell surely?

DMZ002. Current eBay price: £49.10.

As much as I'd love a copy, that's crazy money. You could buy the tunes from Bleep and get a dubplate cut for less than that!

I'd like to think that the people paying this much would play the records and enjoy them, but they'll probably go into a protective PVC sleeve and onto a shelf, never to see the light of day. Shame.

I dunno, I wouldn't want to cut a dubplate from a MP3 - I've played one or two MP3s out off of CD and they sounded pretty poor (192kbps that is, same res as Bleep.com I believe??).

I'd feel so guilty charging somone £50+ for a 12" just because it's in demand at the moment. They're all great tunes so I'm not thinking of selling them, but fuckin hell!!

Do Bleep sell 192kbps MP3s then? I was assuming they'd be 320kbps...

Meh, if you're buying data, it should be CD quality. In my opinion :?
