Captains Rest being ran by a new crowd?
Last time I was in there, about 18 months ago, the "land lord" (i.e. fat tnuc behind the bar) threatened to boot fuck out of me after I told him his lager tasted like shite.
What a tnuc.

everytime we went to a show in there some crazy shit would happen with the landlord! it was horrible!

aye, like jim says its ran by a gig promoter in glasgow and it's been tarted right up. a wee bity more space downstair too.
