he's been dropping Apple - Segaliser in his recent sets (and in here)

Just listened to this set a couple of times, ha me bouncin around like a loon. This new 'funky' lark sounds propa interestin, sorta agressive grimey punches over Carnivally style beats. Class. Can anyone enlighten me about where I can find out more about this scene, clubs that play it? websites? record shops? Cheers people

Fair enough its happend in loads of other genre's before but from time they were all slaggin off Funky back in the day now theyre all buildin it on the sly

Fuzzy Logic - Leader (if thats what its called) is just SO FUCKED!! all these synth riffs kinda reminding me of all the big Hacienda tunes with a soca beat/sorta grime bass.

Just copped a bunch of these from Uptown. Is that Geeneus tune out yet though? Tracking down all these funky tunes is hell when you're not from London...

and yeah Marcus Nasty really opened my ears to this stuff. it's all very rough at this point, but I can't wait to see what this scene looks like in a year or two.

Yellowtail aint but a bunch of other moonshine bits (all the Katy B vocal ones) got a limited vocal press on JellyJams.

I think tracking down these tunes is hell full stop- there is hardly any releases. Check junodownload.com though- can get the MA1 stuff on digital there (get his stuff as 'tribal audio' as well - the abyss)

Funky is a bit cheesy. But I can listen to Deep House all day, and there is already a wealth of that in this style from Ferrer, Candler, Karizma, Justin Martin Buzzin Fly stuff, Ben Watt, Frank Rogers (to name a few plus 1s I'm feeling atm)- Rate Superior's show on Rinse for the deep/minimal tip; 7to9pm fridays
