what do you mean by messing up?

Have you tried going into the preference's and setting the time duration you want to record for?

I personally use Soundforge to record stuff then Audacity to convert the files from WAV to MP3. Works a treat :)

Havent got a clue mate

I only got it because it was free and I wasnt able to make mp3s using Soundforge by itself. I havent really looked into it any more than that.....

Sony Soundforge can save to shed loads of diff formats including MP3, you shouldnt need to convert in Audacity

I dont think my copy is legit tbh. It used to save in mp3 but stopped after I did it about 3 times.

Yes you can, I do this, paired with the mp3 codec it records and converts fine.

could someone explain what makes these programms so special for recording a set? I just allways used "normal" wave editing programms like wavelab or cool edit and it just worked fine. sorry i'm not familiar with the software you mentioned, are there any differences to wavelab for example in terms of recording a dj set?
