...literally!

Sat nite, club Unit in Tokyo. It was a Dubstep x Drum&Bass night with Mary Anne Hobbs and Oris Jay and my mate got attacked by 5 Japanese guys...as we were leaving the club with my mates face still semi intact, they set upon him again....as I tried to pull it apart I was set upon, thrown to the floor and had my face stomped repeatedly by one of the guys!!!

wasn't expecting that....especially not in Japan and especially not at a dubstep night! been living here for 2 years now and that's the first sign of trouble I've encountered!

anyone experienced anything similar at a dubstep night? They getting more dangerous?

sorry MAH/Oris/other peaceful people at the night if it ruined your night as it did mine!

Simple fact is the wasteheads turn up everywhere, and most of the time they aren't drawn by the scene. That's the way it is and unfortunately that's probably the way it'll always be.

edit- sorry to hear about your head by the way, sounds savage

Damn, as far as i know japan has a ridiculously low violent crime rate, and dubstep is generally known for its friendly vibes (used to, haven't been to a dance in god knows how long), sorry to hear that.

Weird

Hey Phobic that sucks.

I must say it was a total random outburst. Were the dudes who attacked you even at the night even patron of the night or just passing out the front of Unit?

I have been involved in and going out in the Tokyo d+b and dubstep scenes for about 5 years and havent seen a fight ONCE. Literally Not a punch or kick or anything. I saw pushing once and it turned out to be mucking around

I hope you and your mates are OK and it doesnt sour your Tokyo clubbing experience.

Soz to hear that bro, hope you and your friend are ok?!

It happened to THC, Hash Money & me down Brighton, its not a nice expirence at all. Really hurt up Hash Money too, something wrong about seeing 5-7 people kicking someone who is face down on the floor. Sad to see anywhere but in Japan, in a Dubstep event! I'd bet my last dollar it wouldnt happen there but as stated above wasteheads are all over the place.

Chin up tho mate

not trying to sound like a dick, but did you guys do anything to warrant the beatdown perhaps? if it was unprovoked then sorry for you guys.

my mate came stumbling towards me on the dance floor with blood pouring down his face and said he'd been attacked...as we leave they jump the same guy again! cowards!

will (maybe) venture to the next one.... Mala and Goth Trad sounds sick Yu!

unfortunately they were in the club....looking much out of place (fake tans, rings, pointy shoes....typical Shibuya host style). Never had the slightest bit of trouble in Tokyo before and not at this event...hopefully this was a one off (for the event and my sake!)

sorry to hear that..

Only happend the once with me and fc in Herbal, few absolute rockets were startign on everyone. One spunb roudn and caught my eye and immedialty stormed up to me claiming i spat on him, then his mate was all over me as well, swinging over fc who was in between us, one punch caught my head the other caught her and she pushed us back, and we reluctantly left.

Afterwards they had to bring all lights up as those same three guys had just started bottling anyone. Not a nice experience and a rare one at that (at a dubstep event or otherwise) its the only toruble iv really had clubbing in London in 3 year.

wow so they dressed like pricks as well.

Sorry to hear about this bruv, I got my head booted in after a local DnB night before. The fact is there is trouble everywhere, that's just the world we live in these days. It's a very pessimistic way to look at it but you've got to expect trouble anywhere but don't let it ruin your night
