Seen them live twice and its been amazing each time. Their new stuff is a bit waft but the EP, Quality Control and Power In Numbers are all unreal.

Yeah maybe a tad strong with the hatin. Had just ate sum fried chicken that felt like I'd dropped ten sticks of dynamite doon me gullet, needed to vent... J5 are alreet just overrated I reckon however when I saw them live at Leeds festival a couple years back they put on a damn good show.
On record :H:
Give me sum shouty bleepy crunk tune with loads of snaps and claps anyday over enduring some conscious 'jazzy' plodathon.

This sentence right here leads me to believe you are insane.

J5 admittedly aren't as good as they used to be, the quality control album was sick though. One of the few US hip hop acts who are still around that I actually would listen to without pulling my ears off and burning them

Agree. Sometimes it's nice to hear, y'know, 'happy' hip hop in between the shouty, bleepy snaps and claps. :)

Listen to A Tribe Called Quest.

meh, i used to really like J5, but now i have realised that they are a bit boring. maybe 4 or 5 good songs.
although respect to them for having some serious flow on the mic.

Yeah, Tribe Called Quest are quality. Q-Tip has a new album coming out, doesn't he? Anyone heard it yet?

Werd, i used to really be into J5. Then they started to get jarring, something about them. More into pharcyde ATQC blackalicious cannibal ox mf doom dangerdoom and outkast tbh.

J5 = amazing

all these "gangsta" rappers should listen to j5 for schooling.
