DJ BRKLSS - The Subway (pre 2)

This is my first attempt productionwise and it's not anything like a final version. Just to get some feedback:

not bad for a first attempt! i'm not a pro concerning this, just posted my own first production a few hours ago, but still i'm able to tell you what i like and what not...
but to be honest i like what i've heard! the only thing i didn't enjoy too much was the bassline, seems a bit boring after a while. maybe a bit diversity would do the trick here.
looking forward to hear the final version!
so keep on dubbing!
P.S.: there's a lee perry sample in it, isn't?

turn up that sub ; get some (not much) delay on the snare;
also try adding distortion to the sub in some parts(automate dist an eq
)
what sofware u on ?? if it's fl this can be easily automated
stay with it ; u got them basics right there

Like the jazzy chordal work, think you definitely need to get a bit more definition on the bass or add some other parts though, as it sounds pretty empty otherwise. The main beat sounded a bit pedestrian though, but I think that's true for a lot of dubstep

Thank you for the input! Yes, i'm working with FL. How can i add automatic distortion on the sub?

Sorry, pedestrian means unfunky - try syncopating the beats a bit more as it sounds a bit too ploddy without any swing at this tempo

You mean to make them less "straight"? I just know that swing thing which i can move left and right?

You can do that or tap them in on your keyboard, sound a bit more human, you can always pull them across in the grid editor, if they're too out

Got it on now. I like the vocal snips and it builds up nicely. Yes yes on those chords. Excellent drop. Good tidy beat. Does get a bit repetative. You could fix that with some extra hi hat shuffles or even by taking away the atmos half way through the body of the track.
