Did anybody here see his set on sunday? I've seen a lot of djs over a number of years in all sorts of genres and 2 days after I'm still trying to think if I've ever seen a better set than his.
What I really want to know is what equipment he was using as some of the looping and drops and effects where incredible. any ideas anyone?

My initial thoughts as well but then he was creating these live drum patterns- from where I was it looked like he was bashing the shit of his mixer/sampler
He must have had some different hardware to go alongside his laptop

Do you mean this badboy?...

that's a good shout- looked like he might have had a touch screen as well although none of the effects sounded like a Kaos pad- any thoughts?

Whatever he used it was HEAVY!
some of the dubstep he dropped sounded a bit fly lo-esque, is that his stuff?

yep that's the one. it's the tool beloved of countless hip hop producers. prefuse 73 rocks one live pretty impressively too.

That's a sexy piece of equipment, although I'm pretty sure Lotus was using the one Rekorder pointed out. Do you use ableton through that as well and would you recommend picking one up?

agreed! looks like I'm going to be dedicating a lot of funds and effort to ableton.
I was thinking- would it be possible to recreate the same calibre and number of mixes whilst creating live drums and editing samples with a sampler/drum machine that could work independantly?
I really don't fancy forking out for a new laptop and ableton + I love my Vinyl and CDJ's but the Lotus set on Sunday was so fucking good it's got to be the future for DJing
