automation in logic

ive been usin logic for a while an im gettin really pissed off, i cant seem to find a way of repeating automation (copy and paste).
every time i want somethin to happen i have to go through and draw it again.
Is there a way?
am i bein really stupid?

yes
hold down Shift, then click and drag to draw a box around the automation you want to copy. then hold alt, and click and drag to copy it where you want to go

Also, go to preferences and then edit your automation preferences. You can set things in there, like getting it to move automation data when moving regions, or getting it to ask you each time you do.

every one I have spoken to who has moved to logic from another DAW suffers this problem. it bizzarre.

hahaha, this has been confusing the shit out of me too. i found automating in reason so much easier
it's the 'lock automation data to region' and all that malarky that reason seems to get round so casually!
will try this later. safe

you can also use the event list; copy the selected events, and paste for another channel.
