Is it all about the ipod, or is there something else out there that is real quality worth checking out?
My second ipod just died, and I'm questioning wether to get another one or stay the fuck away.

they're made by creative and they're far better by than shitty ipods that break and have the sort of sound quality you could get listening to music through a sea shell

Mmm...I've got a nano, had it about a year (&have had no troubles) but I personally would say get a Zen, iPods aren't so reliable & the whole iTunes & its 50,000 updates a year. It's annoying.

You got a mac I take it?...Humm, I, for one, can't help you there. I've never been face-to-face with a mac in my life.

I just bought a Zune, and it is pretty cool. Easy to navigate, looks good, sounds great, good battery life so far, I guess I'll see about how long before it dies.

you can get a 2gb matsui from currys and it shuffles & you can play albums..and it has a screen...it's £14.99
or you can get a 2gb ipod shuffle for £49 that has no screen and only shuffles..whichever you choose innit..depends how important the brand is
you can get a 4gb matsui for £27.99 as well btw....still £4 less than a 1gb ipod shuffle at £32

Creative products unfortunately are not Mac compatible, or I would have a Zen myself...

Fuck, I was going to get the zen until I found out about the whole PC business.
After researching the Cowon and the sony they both seem to have annoying software issues, the iriver doesn't get the best reviews, hmmm...
An mp3 player is all about listening to music, so I can't understand why sound quality wouldn't be the main focus for Apple. And imo it should be the most important factor in which one to buy.
I've never really thought the sound quality was bad with an ipod, but I've also never compared it to anything else.
Any more thoughts to add to my mp3 debate, or should I just get an ipod and shut up?
