Dubsquare Radio on Sub.FM
August 14, 2008 w/ S-Max (live) & IZC
This week somewhere between half-time techno & dubstep. Based in the rather weird city of Wiesbaden, Germany - and therefore pretty remote from any decent music-scene of the country - S-Max has been very busy in adding to the local micro-scene; in particular by setting up Boogizm Records together with Manutchehr “FYM” Ghassemlou as well as by running the Superbleep-nights together with his mate, Playhouse’s dub-techno-pioneer, Lo Soul. As S-Max specialised in puzzling out half-time detroit-patterns, releases on labels such as Detroit-based 7th City Records and remixes for Ectomorph followed. Recently, he became quite influenced by dubstep, resulting in strangely sluggish versions of bass-heavy techno-steppers.
