it would be helpful to mention which software you are using and require patches for

You will find it a lot easier in the long run if you find out how to make 'filthy nasty bass patches' yourself. If you are serious about your production and actually want to go somewhere making tunes like everyone else is not going to do it.

Go and experiment and learn the basics you will find it much more satisfying plus you can add your own style and create your own sounds.

I can see what Werd2jaH is saying though. Its not just about wobbles its about the lazy people that cant be bothered to find stuff out for themselves but demand the knowledge and samples/patchs of the people that do take it seriously.

learn about routing. take a certain element from each oscilator and have it controled and altered by something else.

thats how you can mangle up all the sounds instead of hearing all of these practically non moving lfo speeds..dont be afraid to alter the lfo rate without the sync button on!..obviously it tends to sound nicer sitting with the beat/snare but the space between them is up for grabs...

dont expect it to sound like dirt straight from the synth alone either...get a nice long chain of effects in there but be more subtle with the more you add. one by one the sound gets mutated.

sometimes you might find it helpful splitting the frequencies also.

in true blue peter fashion, Heres one i made earlier.

they're by no means finished so sound a bit rough round the edges.

I'm with Mr. Bastard on this. Fair do's there are loads of people who rely solely on presets without learning the actual processes of what they are trying to apply but at the same time there are infinite amounts of sounds out there and giving someone a free sample of theyre sick bass sounds wont mean that everyone just sounds the same, it'll just mean theres more filthy basslines flying about.

When i use a preset its because i like the idea of a sound. Once its been used i fuck about with it and mould it into one of my own. Faar too much stick being thrown at people who use presets. especially for beginners, who might not have the urge to continue with making beats cos they dont know how to make anything that sounds half decent, chuck a few big presets at them and theyll love it - As long as people dont rely on them and try and pass them off as their own then whats le problem?

Sync your oscillators and detune the fuck out of one of them so you get sick harmonics

i don't really have issue with synthesizing but this thread got me started on a new tune, after i posted that audio clip of "filth", so cheers. it's in the player titled NPLNCMPLX

some threads, though repeated, can still serve some purpose
