North West UK Dubstep Nights/Artists/DJs/FANS

Easy!

Right, moved back to shitty Crewe after 3 years in Liverpool, gotta give big shouts to the Jasbof and Dreadnought crews who've been keeping those cuts sharper than Hanso Steel during my time there, big-ups!

I've been scouting around the place for more nights, DJs, Artists, Promoters etc in the general NW area of the UK as I want to play out a bit more, but outside of Liverpool and Manchester there doesn't seem to be much in the way of a scene apart from the boys down at Rush! in Stoke On Trent from what I've found...

Soooo...I'm looking to get anyone involved in the scene to drop a post here so we can all get to know each other and take the rest of the surrounding land pincer-movement style, as I've noticed a lot of Dubstep and Grime spilling out through car windows round these parts so there's definitely something a-brewing waiting to get tapped.

Even if you're in the aforementioned cities, the bigger this (what I hope to become a) database of heads involved in the scene the better.

Even if you've only HEARD Dubstep once and you're in the NW region, just drop a line. Who knows, there might even be a fan base developing in Wilmslow none of us even know about....

Alright mate. I'm a DJ based in Wigan. Absolutely fuck all going on here. I'm getting a night sorted in Liverpool as getting anything sorted around here is extremely difficult. I know Herbal are doing a night in Preston this weekend. Apart from that there is the gash collective based in Bolton who put on all sorts including dubstep, played for them a few times and its always good.

Good thread.

I'm a Manchester based DJ. Originally from Longsight but have lived in Ashton Under Lyne, Central Manchester (Oxford Rd), Sale, Old Trafford and Mossley.

Grime and Dubstep has reached all of these places in one form or another and seems to be growing exponentially (from what I can see).

I suppose the biggest players around here are the Virus Syndicate boys, the Bass Camp crew and a few others. However I do think I've identified a genuine niche to launch a new night which I'm currently exploring.

Of course, if I do get a night up and running I'll be looking to showcase local DJ's/MC's etc and a NW network would be an invaluable resource for me to pull from and contribute to. Brilliant idea. Get on it!

Lastly, if you're just from the NW area and don't fancy writing a whole lot then please just post up a little shout, a big up or a *peeps in*

Bigup Redline. Although I'm a Leeds man now. I'll be rolling back westwards as much as I can afford.
Hopefully, we'll get the dreadnought ting up and running again soon as well.

Nice one

Hey all, sorry for the late drop-in but thank you all for making yourselves known, may the list continue to grow!

As we all know, what we have with regards to nights/events up in this corner of the country is, from what I can gather, far less substantial than those in other areas of the country. There's nothing to say that we can't make it a big (and profitable :D) scene in the NW area, one where members of Dubstep contigents around the country or even the world would want to make a stop-off.

Sure, most of us have ambitions to hit the "big towns" like Bristol or London, but with all the crowds I've seen at nights round this way, there's potential for it to get just as "prestigious" as it were right here.

If we can all work together and make this happen by supporting NW Talent, not only does it give us the chance to make a mark on the scene but also to give the individuals who are making it work (artists) and worthwhile (supporters) something to br proud of.

Plus booking local keeps the event costs down, good for 1st time start-ups :)

EZ! This is Redline here, I had to change my DJ name after I found out about the Redline producing with Excision! Kudos to him, but annoying all the same!

Please add me on my new MySpace if you havn't already: http://www.myspace.com/tenmendubstep

I've just created a Facebook Group called Liverpool Dubstep Night (easy to find in a search, eh?) which is designed to be a bit of a focal point for Dubstep Fans and Promoters to let the people know what's happening in the City. If you're on "Wastebook" as I like to call it, please get yourself on there, the more people we get, the better and more informative it will be.

This is all good stuff guys, and Horza, a Jam is a good idea, hit me up when you move back.

Fuck Im glad to see the forum back up :D

Oh yeah, created this Facebook group last night (Pace Yourself crew, sent you a message on MySpace about this, havn't checked it today!)

Liverpool Dubstep Night: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=30284475858

There will also be a MySpace sister page soon for those who are wise enough to shy away from (time)Wastebook. And please excuse the shitty name, thought it'd be the best thing to call it given the most likely seach terms people would use.

It's designed to bring all the fans together so they know about every sniff of wobble action in the city, plus to act as a channel for promoters to reach all the right people. We already have 3 events posted up in its first 12 hours! (OK so two were me delivering second hand news, but still!)

Loefah at the Magnet is a pretty big one. Anyone knows whos organising that one let me know, I REALLY want to get on that bill. Support still quotes TBC.
