I like The Ladder. I think it needs a lil eq work, the cymbals are a bit too bright. The snare samples are great though. The mix in and breakdown are nicely executed and more dj friendly then alot of ds. Reminds me of Moving Ninja's stuff which I think we need more of. The Battle...is a bit too confusing with the voice always talking, but its got potential.

Liking the Lader, nice strangled horn sounds, nice Photek influence in their, good arrangement, think it'd sound amazing if the drums were a bit lighter on their feet but it's got a brooding quality to it I like.

Battle of Lakehurst's got that techstep churning feel to it I like (ee, when dnb were dnb, those were the days). I think you're one of the few dnb types that's bringing the good elements of the style in (intricate programming, well-arranged tracks, sinuous evilness) - think that techstep sound gives dubstep an interesting twist.

I'll give these some airplay definitely

Had a quick listen whilst watching tv but got them on properly now....

Battle...Good sounds, i'm liking the vibe a lot...good beats and elements although it can sound slightly disjointed at times...maybe a more minimal bass drum at times so as to define a clear rhythm with a bit of space....the 2nd drop is awesome....really good use of the cut up beat....it is moments of greatness like this that you need to offset with a slightly more subtle feel.... Great bass and everything works nicely...just got to the third drop.....unexpected, again works well, nice variation!......it doesn't quite sound complete but i'll burn it to cd and live with it for a couple of nights...see how it grows on me...

The ladder.....nice background synth and io like the beat a lot...good sound and nice kind of broken rolling sound...Good bass...like the pow pow sub and the other bass sounds work well.....again a nice drop....altho that squarewave/distorted synthy bass isn't quite to my tastes....regardless it does work...that sub hits hard. Good atmos on this one as well....really like the section at 3 mins...and very good drop there too.......really liking this one....Will def give it some airplay.....

You should have heard the first mix the battle. I had the vocal sample doing some very disturbing shit. Played it to my friend and it nearly made them cry. I'm actuely quite proud of that, but I had to tone it down though really, it was just to psychotic.

the ladder sounds pretty fuckin sick. loving all the decorative percussion n sliding reverse action. the bombastic distorted lead sounds fat too.
only real problem is the bass sounds kinda flat. the lines themselves are cool, but the tone could be tighter.
real good stuff tho man. props.

Think I was meaning more that sort of jazzy, kung-fu style that Photek bought to his beats. I've always viewed a lot of his music as a soundtrack to martial arts moves, those sorts of sudden lurches and sly hits. I think the halfstep vibe seems to weigh the more spritely fills and whirls down a bit, it's got good energy to it which I think it loses with the half-time undertow. Depends what you're setting out to do though, so it's purely my taste.

liking the drums in the ladder, both the sound and the programming, also the way it evolves..definetely cool tune.
the battle has crazy ideas but hard to follow it now
