Here is my first ever dubsteppy type tune, I posted this up before when it was in its early stages but I guess alot of people got put off by it being a yousendit link.

So here it is on my also brand new virb page!

Check it out and please do leave feedback, I need all the help I can get with this genre :D

Well, I'm impressed.

Athmospheric a nice drumloop, things in all the right places.

The snare is a bit weak, or slightly lacking. I'd consider giving it a bit more length, and remember you can layer 2 or 3 snares all EQd to get the right sounds.

The drop was good, but your bass felt slightly low in the mix, so if you want to highlight it - I'd say bring it up a bit.

This track could be a cracking debut if you re-worked it a little.

EDIT: - gave this a mention on www.sittingovation.com

Cool, thanks for the mention on your site, appreciate it! :)

I'll take a look at the things you mentioned, a few people mentioned the snare and I beefed it up a bit but obviously not enough :P

Talking about the bass, is that the sub or the mid? I don't have a sub with my monitors so all I have to go on is how I think they sound and a spectral analyzer lol.

Anyone else?

I think both the sub and the mid. Worth boosting them a little. Do you have headphones to listen on - that might help? I'd advise a good solid pair, or stick the track on a CD and play it on a nice system to get it right.

Same comment as above,

Snare needs to be beefier... Reallllly nice track for a first track.

Cool I'll get on that :D

At the moment I'm using Alesis Monitors (with no sub attached) and Sony DJ700 headphones to mix on so I can't really get an accurate response!

Cheers Drama, glad you like it!

I'll post another link up when I've made the edits but it might not be till the weekend coz I work full time :P

Hey! I checked this tune out after reading the review over on Alex's blog.

I'm def liking the overall vibe of the tune, the atmospherics are spot on and the effects used were executed very well.

As others have stated would like to hear some more work on the drums.

Nice job m8!

good tune, so dark it hurts! Technically I agree with the comments above, but u got fire, i bet that wheelin sub kills it in a big system if you'll properly get this mixed/mastered!

Not bad at all. Production seems pretty tight.

The snare could benefit from a bit of 3-5000Hz 'crack'.

If you can use VSTi's then download Voxengo span and use it to analyse the frequencies in each track to help you get the perfect mixdown.
