how to record mixes

i used to use cool edit pro 2 but evrytime i record a mix off my decks using my usb soundcard it only records down one side even though through both speakers are producing sound

so now im looking for new software to record high quality mixes any help would be welcome

buy some kind of usb or firewire interface, the "high quality" comes from that mainly, and these days most interfaces come with an LE version of some kind of decent recording software.

try that if youre willing to spend a little money but still strapped for cash. really good stuff, ive got the AudioFire4.



EDIT: nevermind, you said you have a usb sound card. Software, Sound Forge.

Audacity is free, works just like cool-edit (adobe audition is the new name)

just google "Audacity" and then get yourself the "Lame.dll" mp3 encoder

it works just fine
