WARRIOR QUEEN /mc appearing alongside the bug

"I was born in the city Kingston, Jamaica, you know the home town of 'The Legendary Bob Marley,' cool eh? Now, it's hot, burning hot, sun from that moment of birth. I was blessed. Blessed with this musical voice, talent to write from the Almighty Father, for real! My childhood years have been about music. My uncle had a sound system & a record store. I selected on the sound system in the record shop I would play the flip side of records. Plugged a mic in, then started chanting. Within seconds the shops interior and exterior would be like Reggae Sunsplash, trust me. I soon realized something within me musically. One day at my friends house I was chanting to the flip side of a track when someone approached my friend and asked, "Who is that girl? She sounds wicked" he then stated that he had a sound system and would like me to be one of the DJ's for his sound he had a dance in process with artists like sister charm, and Pablo Mellow. It was a smasher. It did not stop there, I wrote frequently, chanted fluently at contests, dances etc."

Warrior Queen is a multi-talented DJ & Writer who has worked with everyone from Penthouse Music in Jamaica to UK garage producer Sunship aka Ceri Evans. Sunship and Warrior Queen created an underground classic with 'Almighty Father', released by Casual Records, with a follow up called 'Quits'. Her most notable work lately has been with industrial dancehall don The Bug, releasing another instant-classic scorcher "poison dart" amongst other fire.

COLBY SPARKS /live

Colby Sparks has been composing and performing in Vancouver for the past two years. Throughout this time he has played with various styles, but is more commonly associated with breakcore. Being strongly influenced by his history as a jazz saxophonist, he has a very distinctive melodic and harmonic style that, paired with chaotic drums, has wooed many into a state of moshing chaos.

SELF EVIDENT /live

Representing heavyweight production crew SUB OSC, Self Evident has been slewing crowds with his own brand of crunked-up and glitched-out beats that make you wanna get seriously funny on the dance floor. His tracks have been played by DJ Hatcha (Kiss FM London), Kid Kameleon (XLR8R podcast), EDU K (On Tour) and bandmates Max Ulis, Taal Mala and Phowa. Collaborators include Warrior Queen (UK), Lil Monsta (Brazil), and Stereotyp (Austria) just to name a few. He will be playing a live PA set of all originals and exclusive remixes. Wear appropriate footwear.

MICHAEL RED /dj

After the smoke clears (cuz you can trust there will be fire!), M R ED will seal the deal with some roots and new styles of dub, but will take some time getting there. winding through the deeper sides of dubstep and abstractions. ..and who knows what else.

DR. SPINY /dj

Dr.Spiny has travelled the world to find the deepest roots of dub, often spending weeks at sea, and days toiling underground in search of long lost treasures, which he provides, by appointment, for the greater edification of the public taste at his "red gate" institute of higher learning (and lower octaves) in the beautiful downtown eastside of Vancouver.

KINOTROPY /vj

Vancouver native, vj KINOTROPY has been re-mixing video with live, audio-synchronized effects in concert with all types of musical performances. Every feed is another potential input and every blank surface is sexy. By striving to use his tools to their fullest capabilities, he aims to bring you the finest of aural-ocular experiences: harmonious rhythms, shared by the eye and the ear.

TUSK /vj

Tusk has been active in the Vancouver underground for the past 6 years as a VJ, DJ, producer and event promoter. His intention is to create charged autonomous spaces and atmospheres wherein communites and individuals can explore novel states of conciousness and experience cathartic release. Tusk combines archaic ritual technology and contemporary digital processes through the lens of soundsystem culture.

CLAUDIA MEDINA /vj

Claudia was born in small pulp town BC, highly reminiscent of Twin Peaks. She has been embedded with a Lynchian obsession for the strange and upside down ever since. She will go just about anywhere to project images, especially if it involves ice castles in the north.
