Ripping vinyl

Hello
Can anyone recommend some vinyl ripping software? I tried to use the one that came with virtual dj but its pants.

It's just a question of using any audio editor to record the line in from your soundcard.
personally, i think soundforge is pretty nifty.

i use audacity.
its free and has quite a bit of features.
if u are on a budget, and on a pc...i would highly reccomend it.

I use Adobe Audition to record.. save as WAVE, then use CDex with LAME Mp3 encoder to encode.
One thing if you are ripping vinyl, PLEASE don't share the mp3s with anyone else.

Whats C Dex? I've got adobe audition 2 so I can use that. The thing is I've got an external sound card in the form of Hercules DJ console mk2...so is it a case of connecting my deck to this and hitting record in audition?

Oh yeah....and I wouldnt share out mp3's with anyone else. I pay for the vinyl so why should someone else get it free?!

thanks for the budget minded recommendation! i was just looking for something like this to chop up files.

Digital, thats right it should record. CDex is a program used to convert WAVEs to high quality MP3 using LAME encoder and other things.

Yeah, Audacity's what I use too. Excellent bit of software, especially for free.
