can any body help out with how to assign the LFO of your synth to change when you adjust a certain parameter. For example you can set the lfo to change rate when you move the pitch bend on your keyboard. i found the link earlier but not couldnt see where it tell you how to go about doing it.

what software are you trying to do this on?

Midi learn? Or do you mean connect parameters one to another?

im using reason. and yeh connecting parameters. what effect does the other have as well? im quite new to it just curious to find out. cheers guys.

In Reason there are multiple ways of assigning the LFO/Modulators to other controls.

The easiest way:

1> Right click on the synth control you wish to assign to your keyboard (This will bring up the context sensitive menu).

2> Click on 'Edit Remote Override Mapping'.

3> Tick the check box that says, 'Learn from control surface input'.

4> Move a control and it will automatically assign itself.

Another way of assigning LFO's is to use the hard routed button within the LFO section itself. You will need to also turn up the amount knob. For instance, if one were using Subtractor, in the LFO 1 section, click on Filter 1 and then turn up the amount knob. When you play a few notes you should hear the filter coming in and out.

On the Malstrom, simply turn the knob up or down in the Mod sections. Again, try turning up 'pitch' or 'shift'.

The third way is to flip the rack around and drag a yellow CV wire from the LFO output to any of the inputs holes. The LFO signal will now be controlling whatever control you wired up.

The final way is to use a Combinator. but I can't be bothered to explain that now so read the f***ing manual!
