Anyone do this, ive got some pretty sick loops which go well with the song im making but i feel like its cheating abit just wanted your views on it.

Loops have been used for years and years, just depends how they are used.

Rather make my own.

its up to u at the end of the day, the only reason i try to make my own drum loops is so i can learn how rhythm works better, but im sure if u just chuck in one that fits with the tune anyway, noone will notice

Yeh that's it. I like listening to grooves and then trying to make it myself.

i use to, but now all i use is individual drum hits on their own channels, it's the only way for me, you can easily EQ, compress, tweak individual parts and control them better (EQ, compress, volume etc) and then send them to a bus channel.

Yea, this is the first time ive used it normal i use the redrum, but carnt get anything to go with the track open up the loops and it gos nicely with it

What's the problem? If it's a kickin track then it don't matter. Most artists freely admit to using samples. Most of the music industry in fact. Being creative is what counts.

If your feeling guilty then chop the breaks up and get them in Redrum for some custom rolls and fills etc.......

Then you need to spend more time at it.

Using sample hits is one thing but using som1s loops is just lazy imo.

I use chopped loops, layered with individual hits....As has been stated before, if it fits, it fits...All about how you use your tools.

layer your own hits on the the loop

then take away the loop

voila!

Sometimes a loop doesnt sound right end to end, throw it out of its loop and see what happens.

Ill use loops sometimes, layered with other hits to accentuate the break.

the loops must be varied though, one loop an entire choon would be lox.

i never use drum loops, it seems waaay too much like cheating. its probably the one thing in making tunes i would never do.

I love bouncing beats I made and using/chopping them as if they were breaks. Also helps me not fussing forever with each single drum hit.
