Few good people at Ashton Court on the Saturday
actually. Dreadzone, Blackout JA & the Jungle Red
Band, etc.... Getting peer pressure to go, so you
never know - might end up reaching in the end.

The acoustic tent is usually ok, i just love going along to sit in the sun with a beer and a reefer.
Saying that dont forget Unity the night before at Lakota, you have Dubloaded, Ruffneck and Noir all playing an hour each

there's not been a proper Dance music tent at Ashton Court for a couple of years now. This is becaue of a few instances of trouble kicking off up there as it used to act like a bit of a lightning rod for all the pikeys & herberts.
Due to the fighting etc, Bristol Police got the hump about dance music at the festival, and threatened a 400% price hike to police the festival the next year unless they dropped the dance music stage. The festival's Insurers also put their prices up through the roof.
A lot of people also blame the recent sponsors, Orange (the festival is now called the Orange Ashton Court Festival instead of the Bristol Community Festival) in wanting to do anything to avoid negative publicity.
As above, if you're coming down for the weekend you should try to hit Unity @ Lakota on the Friday nite. This was started up last year, and is an annual collaboration between 40-50 bristol promoters to try and show the wider world that Bristol's dance music community can come together in a positive, broad-minded fashion without any trouble, agression or violence.

Ashton Court's not about the music, anyway... It's about hiking across the city to get overcharged booze and sunburn with a load of people who you just see down the pub anyway...

In 2000 we did an after-party for the festival a charity ting w/ mayzee and co...down club loco / maze club - headz decided to let off gas in the club (no not the methane from the backside) - bigup mr ed rush for persisting with his set..it was worse than lebanon in there.
ashton court is wicked...but the hike up the hill broke a man...and my sneaks

Having only lived in Bristol for a year - but making the very first Unity - I'd 100% echo the reccomendation to make the night - it's an insanely varied night, with such a positive vibe its ridiculous - def. one of the best nights I had in Bristol last year, and I had loads

Yeah, Ashton Court's wicked people - all about
the vibes. I'm pissed off to be missing it... And
Unity SUCKED last year - hence why I decided
against repping Ruffnek myself this year

bollock Krys, you're talking arse.... Unity was a great laugh and I for one am dead chuffed that they wanted Ruffnek Diskotek to be part of it.
