been waitin on 'em for a good bit.
shit, i can't even stock these in my store yet.
the timeblind's "hole" is too small and even being extremely
careful to extricate it off the platter. . . record snaps in fucking HALF!
argh.
new tectonic plate? the hole is too big.
YAAAAAAAAARGH!
i'm very sad today.

D'oh.
Hole too small - use a file, edge of screwdriver blade, anything hard-wearing and gently scrub a little off the inside of the hole. You'll be suprised how little you need to do this.
Hole too big - get some tape or stickers and cut little strips - stick through the hole and attach either side. Try and evenly distribute.
I thought they taught that at school?

Oh totally, I know the drill.
Didn't have a chance to work on the timeblind.
It snapped on the first play/attempt to pull it off.
Not too worried about the tectonic, just throws me a bit off
the first time I set it up on the platter.

lol the same thing almost happened to me with the timeblind record, but when i was listening to it in the shop! It was a bit tough to get on, but once i'd decided it was definately worth getting ( this plate is the business ) , I tried to get it off and it was having none of it. Luckily i clocked it was near snappage and got the store owner to have a go instead. Gave it the yale treatment when i got home

something i learned years ago. if you throw on a new record when playing out (you can do this at home too), and the hole is too big for the spindle take a cigarette foil or a piece of paper (grab the nearest flyer...that always works), fold it over once or twice (depending)stick it in the hole, and put the record and the piece of paper on the spindle. voila! it fits!
