Why can't the mixes just be hosted elsewhere and if peeps want they can link to them in their sigs? Surely its the exact same thing?

I voted that I would help with that actually, I didn't pick the last option, but since you asked, even if there were 20,000 downloads per month, I hosted a Scuba mix on my server that was posted on something like 300 blogs directly, with 1200 gig of transfer per month on a slow and old server...

12,000 downloads in a month didn't break my bandwidth. Now the most heavily downloaded mixes from this site here are usually less than 100 meg, and downloaded less than 300 times.

Imagine if Get Darker and Barefiles, along with myself and anyone else with bandwidth worked out a system of mirrors to handle the load... it's not hard, I could code that in less than a day pretty easily and there are already programs that handle such things on the market. Vbulletin can be a front end for that.

I'm trying to improve what I find lacking about this site. That's what I'm trying to accomplish. I think you'll find that if you phrase it the right way, people love the idea of new features. If you flail your arms around like a little fucking bitch and whine about your SQL and shit getting messed up during transfers, etc... yea noone wants that. But if you approach it in an honest manner, as the voting shows so far, people want the options, even if they won't use them. I am one of those people. I'm ready to put the money up for it too, because I'm not going to let that be their excuse, it'll be basically because they don't give a shit about what the users think--in which case the users can decide how to act.

I'm asking people if they want options... do you?

read what i wrote in your other thread. talk to dubway and the mods directly, bringing this out in the open without some sort of solution you've previously worked out with them really achieves nothing for you, and if anything, people dont like to work with you if you point out what is wrong with them (and what they do) before telling them how you can fix their problems. seems kind of backwards to me.

I'm not polling them. If they wanted to do it, it'd be done already. It's not the first time this has come up. I USED THE SEARCH FUNCTION(a lesson for the moron massif) and noticed that they had no plans to do so, but exactly the opposite.

So I polled the people who make this forum or break this forum...

What should I say to them?

"Hi, I noticed you use shitty software. I have this free vbulletin license for you and I'll personally install it and code any themes or hacks you'd like to add"

I read the discussions on the issue in the past. I know what they'll say, so I didn't waste my time with them. They are busy people right? Everyone keeps saying it.

Well, I'm busy enough to know I'd be wasting my time with them. Though the voting still shows me to be right.

so you assumed they would turn you down? nice. and if you dont have the tact necessary to bring up these issues with them in an unoffending manner, then you have no business working with them to begin with i suppose. after that last post, i wouldn't be interested in working with you either.
