Got it for free with the 1212m soundcard but for some reason it won't install properly. Can't remember what was going wrong but the interface kept me from trying to fix it. Is it worth it?
How do you rate it compared to Kontakt or HighLife?

It should be possible by just configuring the patchmix but I've not been successfull so far... Could only find out how to record from an external source.

well

the 0404 comes with the Proteus, which is equally powerful, but the Emulator X is mega badass

IMHO, it blows kontakt away (and I am an avid fan of NI stuff) but I have never heard of highlife so I can't say

multiple filters, nearly unlimited modulation matrix, clean effects and it's completely dependent on the dsp of the 1212m so there is minimal CPU load

I have only begun to scrape the surface, but I would work through any installation issues you might be having (Daft tnuc: hit me on the PM and I can assist, if you'd like)

I am happy tho, reachin sounds I could never hit before

good times

I was also using Audition (cool edit) when i got this card like 3 years ago

then I switched to Audacity because of the same issue

Audacity, thats freeware right? the 0404 came with quite a nice software bundle, cubase lite, not sure which one, ableton live lite 4 or 5, and cakewalk sonar or something

can you record audio from movies in like windows media player using audacity then?

0404 LOL. I bought that card like 2 or 3 years ago. I had to take it out of my computer. I am just too dumb for it. I can't believe all this time has passed and they haven't tried to update it and make it a little more intuitive. I haven't really looked at any emu gear since tbh.

I went back to using sound blaster after taking the EMU out LOL. Of course manuals make my brain hurt so that could be my problem
