2 FUCKING FLOORS OF BASS..........

HEADHUNTER
(TEMPA - HENCH - BRISTOL, UK)
http://www.myspace.com/dubstepheadhunter

dubstep producer / DJ from Bristol, England, currently signed to Tempa. Starting off with twitchy minimal half-step rhythms on the label Ascension he set up with flat-mate Tech Itch (aka Technical Itch), his sound now occupies a niche section of the dubstep scene, sitting comfortably between the ultra-heavy bass styles of Skream, Benga and his Tempa stablemates, and the deeper Berlin influenced Bristol side of the dubstep coin.

His debut album ‘Nomad’ is due for release on the 26th September 2008 on Tempa, with the vinyl and CD versions having significantly different tracklists.

_ As founder and resident DJ of the legendary Technique in Leeds, for the past five years Kid Blue has been forging a reputation as one of the best resident DJs in the UK. Moving to London in early 2006, he quickly landed a residency at Chew The Fat! and is now rocking the capital on a monthly basis, as well as returning to Leeds once a month to his 'spiritual home' at Technique. His productions are also starting to gain him numerous fans, with tracks on Lot49, Fat! and Passenger picking up support from James Zabiela, Hybrid, Laurent Garnier and Pete Tong to name a few.

_ Starting out clubbing in his native Birmingham, the Kid quickly picked up on a whole range of music, being a regular at the city's house and techno clubs listening to Andrew Weatherall and Justin Robertson, as well as taking in the sounds at Nu-Tonic, Brum's legendary breaks and beats night where he first heard DJs such as Adam Freeland. It's no surprise then that his sound is a melting pot of all these influences, when you hear him play you are as likely to hear Funk D'Void as you are Koma and Bones, Anthony Rother or D Ramirez.

_ Arriving in Leeds in 1997 to go to university, he quickly started putting on warehouse parties with mates. These proved so popular they turned into Technique, which has gone on to host parties in Barcelona, Tokyo and London. He has DJd alongside some of the biggest names in electronic music - Derrick May, Adam Freeland, Michael Mayer, Mr Scruff, Plump DJs and Richie Hawtin to name a few. Guest slots at clubs such as Tribal Sessions, Hum, Playtime, Platform 12, Urban Gorilla and Tangled in the UK, have been accompanied by a growing reputation abroad – he has played in Hungary, Dubai, the USA, Spain, Germany, Georgia and even Malawi in the past twelve months.

_ With collaborations with Fat! label mate Merka in the pipeline, more remixes for a variety of labels and solo work due for release on Fat in 2008, as well as his continuing residencies at Chew The Fat! and Technique, Kid Blue’s reputation as one of the most exciting acts around continues to grow.
