I get the same exact problem when I'm really into working on a tune late at night and have to force myself to bed because of morning obligations
same thing --> its the real tune and I'm quantizing notes and working EQs etc.. its kinda bothersome but I've noticed the same thing happening if I'm posting on here late at night, I go to bed and only get half asleep kinda like lucidly still making dream posts and taking bait
I read an article about teenagers not getting sound sleep because they spend too much time with digital gadgets esp. right before bed - supposedly it fucks with your brainwave activity.
My advce would be to stop working on a tune an hour or two before bed, stop listening to it, drink a beer, smoke something, or pop on the tele to get your mind off the production track if its becoming too much of a problem..

ive had the same kind of thing. once i fell asleep with the second half of a project playing on loop and had this mad dream working on it. it was pretty weird, the second i woke up i was convinced i had done the things i had dreamt about. carried on listening and it wasnt quite what i had expected it to be

This is so jokes. I get the same type of shit you guys are talking bout. Sometimes if i have just made a propper sick beat or bassline it seems to dig itself into my head and i cant get the damn thing out! Its like the music came from my brain so it fits so well in there on loop. For this reason i find it very hard to sleep when i have one of my tunes in my head.
This is also similar when i have a great idea which often comes when my mind is reasonably free to think e.g. in bed. I find that attempting to beatbox it into a recording on my phone helps me let the idea go and gives me something to work from when i wake up in the morning.
Some of my best tunes have come out of a stupid beatbox-style recording on my phone.
Jokes thread,
Peace

this thread remindend me of my propa pillin days when i got home still rushing my tits off and lay in bed. i was thinking of logic and one thing led to another and in my state of disorder really belived i was on it. i kept clicking on play and nothing was happening, it played but no sound. so i tried to find to root of the problem and then i realised it was in my head. properly confusing. sorry for the hijack

I perscribe 10mg of Ambien (or whatever they call it in the UK, I know sometimes the drug names are different).
Problem solved. Thank you, thank you.
