This is quite funny really. They are just making it up as they go alone now. Oh, in other good news train fares in London are going up by 30%, again. The trains that are getting the biggest increase are the ones going to central London. They are saying its a deterrent to stop people going for the most over crowded trains. Thing is they are the most over crowded because there is no fucking other way.
GOVERNMENT officials have abolished train overcrowding by changing the definition of what constitutes overcrowding.
The Department for Transport, which has promised extra carriages, has re-written the guidelines on the acceptable number of people standing.
Formerly, it was considered acceptable to have 10 people standing for every 100 seats but under new guidelines it is all right to have 30 standing passengers per 100 seats.
Train companies will be able to pack in more passengers without their services being labelled "overcrowded".
Centro, the public transport authority in the West Midlands, has complained to the National Audit Office that the new guidelines would result in worse conditions which will force people off trains and into their cars.
The NAO agreed and has said overcrowding will get worse until the Government fulfils its pledge to introduce 1,300 extra carriages on busy routes.
To date, only 423 of the carriages have been ordered from the manufacturer and none has been delivered. A DfT spokesman said he was unable to give details of when they would arrive but that they should be in place by 2014.
At the same time, train fares are rising to deter passengers from travelling on the most crowded trains. A spokesman for the NAO said: "Most passengers can expect to pay higher regulated and unregulated fares in the future."

I feel your pain Ash, i got on that same train this morning and it was packed when i got on at East Croydon so you can imagine the squeeze by them time it got to London Bridge.
People were pushing on like getting to work was a matter of life and death. You know them ones where if man could move to swing his arms a fight would kick off.
And why is it always me who gets the sweaty armpit in the nose and the Ginsters pasty on the shoulder...dont you just hate the daily commute...

Weird, I thought it was just done on length rather than at what time of day, I get a weekly to Clapham Junction and I pay the same rate regardless of what time I travel.
