I've been trying out a new approach to dubstep with more emphasis on groove and less on dirtyness and wobbly basslines. There are still plenty of bass though, and the inspiration from dub, but also from psytrance and minimal. And at last there's a buttload of percussion and shakers!

i enjoyed all four of your tracks up there. and i do agree that dubstep needs more flair in the percussion side of things, it is certainly refreshing to hear something aside from the "classic" (one may also say...generic?) minimalist dubstep rhythm. at the same time, i do thoroughly enjoy the deliberate grinding half step with a heavy synthline any time of the day to me, "gateways" seemed like your most dubstep influenced track

Too few do! Have you got any mixes lying around? I'd like to hear some more experimental dubstep dj'ing.

Gateways is also the earliest track track of the four, so you can guess which way I'm moving

It's not that I don't like "generic" or "normal" dubstep, I love it. I'm just not good enough at it. I can't compete with Rusko's wobbles. Also, it's fun to hear at parties and raves on a big fucking system, but when it comes to producing I like the more dark, groovy and progressive side of dubstep better.

Very refreshing, sometimes it's not about sick wobbles. Oh and keep your name, you shouldn't change because people are stupid or won't take the time.

I love it when someone takes the sound and does what they feel it should sound like, results are amazing. Its refreshing to hear someone who doesnt just stick to the basic boundries we are used to hearing.

cool stuff, it'd be nice to hear at a rave perhaps intertwined with house and techno, or earlier in the night when no one's really warmed up enough for big wobbly ones. liking the psyish elements too!
