Anyone from Tampa, FL into dubstep or spinning similar music around here?

All I know of is the Green Iguana has a bunch of electro/house/generic bullshit trance DJs every once in a while and that's about it. Would be really cool to hook up with other people who are into dubstep and possibly collab.

i've played in Tampa twice. there's a Konkrete Jungle night, i believe they play some dubstep. you might have to make the drive down to Miami sometime, we get the best dj's from around the world.

I haven't heard of (Dub/Dubstep)anything good going on to see or to be a part of so far..but I make dub/dubstep and check-out the myspace on my Mc page ,

i just moved back to st pete..

there are like 5 Djs/Producers (including me) doing the dubstep thing now, there are warehouse parties in tampa but you gotta be in the loop.

but there will NEVER be a scene in tampa like there is in Miami, so if you wanna go to a real dubstep party check out somejerk and juan basshead

I know there's a fanbase for the music in Tampa, just no dedicated nights that i've heard. Hopefully a good turnout tonight will show local promoters that there is interest in this music.

Yeah, I just moved to Tampa and am looking for places to spin at. I've been spinning for 15 years, now, but am coming off of a lengthy hiatus from playing out. The hiatus combined with the recent move makes it even harder for me to find out what is going on in the Tampa area. So, if anybody has any info they can provide me, it would be greatly appreciated.

I went to that Rusko party last weekend, but didn't hear about anything else coming up in the near future. The place was packed, but it was held in a very small venue. The line being around the block after twelve isn't surprising considering the way the line was moving. I got in line at 9:45 and probably had 40-60 people in front of me, but, I didn't get in the club until after 11:30. While I was in line, I did over hear someone talking about a dubstep weekly in Ybor. So far, that's about all I know as far as Tampa having a dubstep scene.

Ybor Outdoors in the castle u can request dubstep and they will usually play it. Bassnectar and some other stuff are their favorites but if you request and they have it theyll work it in.

Are there any dubstep DJs in the Tampa area that ARE NOT playing the heavy dirty sound? I've heard a little bit of chill dubstep in Orlando, but usually all the DJs around here seem to be playing the same general style (hard/grimey stuff). I know this isn't the mixes section of the forum, but check my latest mix out and let me know if anybody is playing stuff more along these lines in the general Tampa area:
