Radio Shows. Should they have their own separate forum?

In the last 3 months this main forum has been overrun with radio show hype threads. We're not trying to say that this is a bad thing. In fact it's superb. The problem now is that nearly 2 out of 4 new threads on this page are radio related. Obviously we understand that radio shows want to be in places with the highest forum traffic, but something's got to give here. Please vote, and help us decide on a solution.
Cheers,

I definately think a new forum for all stuff radio related would be a good idea, cause i know im one of the culprits who posts up there show times on here but this seems like the best place to post them at the moment

one forum for all radio related stuff. No need to split it up into regional forums since most stations are available via stream around the world anyway...

I think a new forum is warranted. With perhaps a sticky with the schedules from each of thh stations (in graphic / table format and not a massive list)
Posting recordings in one area as well would be great. Good idea if we could follow the same format for titles as well.
STATION-DJ-DATE-TIME-COMMENT for instance.
I do like the organisation of the events page. Isn't this where radio shows are supposed to go originally?

One new forum for radio shows would suffice I think; regional forums are a nice idea in theory, but they'd end up cluttering an already growing board, and the traffic would be poorer for splitting things up. Plus like AntiLynd said, you can tune in no matter where someone's broadcasting from.

Most definitely a separate radio forum is needed. If only people would just stick to posting radio/stream-related threads in that forum because some still tend to re-post in the main forum anyways.

Radio shows should go into the Music subforum. And i really would welcome the users to put mixes there as well and NOT in the main subforum.

But where do you draw the line? We have almost as many miss-placed threads, off topic ones and other posts that should go in the Music forum. It's a tough call but I'm sure a lot of people do like me when time is short and only check the main forum. Accordingly ppl place their posts in the main forum - to get a bigger repsonse. If you go strict on one type of post do you go strict on the others?
I have had this conversation before about this type of forum and one option is to show all posts from all forums in a flat list as a "view" then people wont be so bothered about not getting seen. Personally I find the classifications, esp the events one very useful but the bigger these things get they harder they get to manage. Tough call.

many phpbb forums are using RSS scripts now. here's an example:
feed://bbs.twinphish.net/board/rss.php
this seems to really suit bloggers and people that blog frequently in local situations. the problem with our forum is that doing an rss feed on here for the event section would be a complete mess, as there's international dates. there wouldn't be any structure to it. rss feeds work by the last post posted, so the heirarchy of posts would have no bearing on what country the event was in etc. you'd have UK events mixed in with US. a mess.

i'm from the opinion that gigs and radio are critical to what this forum's about. i would go as far as to say they fuel this place. up until now we've allowed hype threads for both radio and events on the main forum, because we want everyone getting an equal shot at the traffic here. that keeps promoters happy, and dj's/radio stations happy too. the problem now is that it's starting to interfere with the idea of the main forum, so a decision must be made. roll call threads for event nights should stay because they're not as dominant lately as the radio threads have been.

A new forum would be alright but what would be nice is a caldendar that people can submit their radio shows for.

I like what Seckle said but I think the radio shows are too much a part of it all and I am going to vote:
* Let radio threads stay in the Main Forum.
They are at least more on topic than some...
My thinking behind this is sometimes I only check the forum every couple of days and then I see a "Skream - Stella Sessions" post and think "oh yeah I forgot" and tune in. Same for SubFM although I am a regular listener sometimes I forget about shows. And the shows do build the love...

well, we didn't moderate it heavily. from now on we will, as this poll is looking pretty clear right now.
