Open the project, double click each type of swing folder (in the arrange page) highligh all, and save as a groove template (do for both).

Now hide the two folders (the h button) and save as a project template. Et Voila! MPC 3000 Swings on logic 8 ;) (use the quantize menu)

You know it! Some clever clogs actually transcribed the actual midi outputs of his MPC 3000 swings (the ones J dilla uses R.I.P) To logic, you can actually notice, that even the beginning notes of bars actually shift minutely forward, something no other swing I have seen doing! maybe that's the MPC secret?

These are great, although to be fair there's another secret to the swing of mpc's... their ppq rate. No big deal though, these templates are top shelf, especially when you put differnt swings on differnt sounds (hats and kicks ftw!)

Just found this-

follow the instructions
http://www.logic-cafe.com/Article_View. ... tegoryID=1

An important note-

The original swings you made as a groove template needs to be in your song for the quantizes to remain in the menu. You can mute and hide the track if you wish to ignore it in your arrange page.

It's just nerd shit really - ppq is parts per quarter note, and relates to how the values between notes is sliced up. Most DAW's use different settings than the mpc's so there will be slight differences.

But that sort of shit is for gearslutz really - these templates rock! Slap them on some slower tempos and hear how much they swing!

thats actually dilla himself playing with swing off.. he was known for that... and his beats dont sound swung...

u want hardcore swing use... try hi-tek... dilla didnt quantize most of his stuff for a good part of his career.. altho he did it

however ... the mpc 3000 does have its own character... (yet, it wont guarantee good music)..
