very cool indeed. for any fans of the -coded language- LP, i think you'll be presently surprised. the cd version has some huge tunes from his back catalogue. he took 3 years to write this album and you can hear it. still a very powerful producer all these years later.

this is true for at least 3 of their main artists. they used to make their own formulas back in the day...brown paper bag era. now they just seem to follow formulas, instead of concept albums like reprazent. i've had arguments with people that the best roni size was never on full cycle but v. early die, roni on v recordings is still the 'ish.

had the pleasure of seeing reprezent on their 1st return gig to bristol after their first ever tour...after their success....

now that was sick. the whole of bristol was out for that in full force.

Saw them live during the tour for the first album and they were pretty hot then - haven't been particularly sparked by the later stuff though to be honest

I've heard good things about the new album, but yet to listen to the whole thing. I'll have to see if it holds up next to Coded Language!

From what I have heard it sounds somewhere inbetween the experimental style of old and the current Full Cycle nonsense.

I'm a MASSIVE FC fan, before I lived here in Bristol I used to make the mish up every month for their backroom residency @ Temptation etc etc, got almost all their records (only a few left to dig for)...still gotta huge amount of love for their old music but we all know they tailed off terribly around 2001 init.

I had high hopes for the Krust LP but it hasn't quite delivered for me. A couple of the tunes are pretty good, and I really like the inclusion of a lot of his old singles on the 2nd CD, but really his old output still shits all over this new material IMO. Genetic Manipulation, Soul In Motion, Maintain rmx, still way ahead of their time even today I think.

It's nuts man, I really don't know why they've gone so far down the road they've chosen - it's not like their classic FC sound fell out of favour all of a sudden. Last year I went to see Die play an old 'lost dubplates' set at a bar in Bristol and the place was ramajam - peeps dancing on the tables, just mental.
