ok this is doin ma head in!
I have a midi clip the 1's represend a kick drum and the x's silence capital x is just to mark the first beat of the bar so below whe have a selection of 1 and 2 bar loops.
1xxxXxxx
this one plays but the kick sounds on the X rather than the 1
1xxx
this one is the same loop shortened to 1 bar and plays fine with the kick sounding on the 1.
Xxxx1xxx
again the kick seems delayed on this one an sounds on the X.
this is driving me mad anyone any ideas. it is really anoying whe tring to work out beat repeats and stuff althought it is always delayed by the same amount it can't be right.
thanks in advance

hmm,
well I'm assuming your using drum rack or impulse? Perhaps the sample you are using for your kick has some silence in front of it inside the actual sample. You can cut that off if you open up the sampler in the drum rack pad.

the quantise is set right I think are you talking about the button next to the pencil?
it's not the sample I just used that as an example it happens with any sound pluss it is only when I stretch to 2 bars

weird,
well, assuming there are no effects, i don't know. the fact that it would work on a shorter bar indicates, i guess, that's it's not your sounds card's latency.
if you upload a couple of screenshots of live with the track selected, and then the midi clip selected, I might be able to help. I've been using ableton live for years, I know it in and out

Do you use an audio interface?
What does the latency info show in your options? That's probaly your problem.

Then it's strange indeed. Post up a pic of your Audio Preferences Tab.

OK I fixed it there was a rogue effect on one of the drum rack channels, it was switched off but as soon as i removed it all was fine.
weird I did not think it would have affected the sound when off even i the form of a delay. perhaps there was a bug with it.
