CON ARTIST ON DUBSTEPFORUM - Dont get scammed!

Im putting up this post in order to prevent people from getting ripped off by a dishonest member of the forum. Recently there was a post from a member called Rachel advertising a load of records for sale...
http://dubstepforum.com/viewtopic.php?p ... ht=#856020
I sent a cheque (stupid i know), which was then cashed, and the records have never arrived. Funnily enough ever since the cheque cleared the person in question has stopped replying to my emails. I've seen that plenty of other people have expressed interest in buying records off her so i thought i better warn you all. I have also sent an email to the moderators.
Im a big fan of the forum and never had any problems before, plus im not in to slagging people off or posting negative comments on the site, however i felt this post was necessary.
Peace

thats weird because I sent her a message asking for some records and she sent one back saying they had already been sold. Surely if she was a thief she would have told me I could buy them even if they had been sold? Not trying to disrespect you in any way mate, sorry to hear this happened to you

In before the lock. Sorry if this happened, but I suspect this thread will be locked before I finish with this reply.

I know what you mean bout peps on discogs, i paid for a tune a while back and never received it. I even emailed the person a few times and got no reply. Not too bothered, but it has put alot of miss trust in me and i aint used discogs since. I have wanted to buy few records off peps in here, but have been put off by this experienece. I have however bought records off a few peps in here, and i can honestly say you can trust Leeno and gavie b . They both sent out my records out and i had no probs with either of them. Just don't think i can trust peps im unsure about, which is a shame coz there is a lot of honest peps just wanting to make a buck for bills treats xmas presents n that n can't coz of con artists.

unlucky mate. although im pretty sure you can stop a cheque at any time, even after its been cashed and the funds will be refunded, especially if its due to fraud.

Hmm, thats a bit nuts.
I was in the process of buying some records from Rachel too, but communication was seriously slow. I dont know how long its been since she last spoke to you? But yeah, im just as bad at replying to emails, and in the end we just got to a point where nothing happened for like 2 weeks and im assuming the deals off now
She was asking me for cheque at first aswell, but later on said she could use a mates paypal if it made it easier. Hmm, she definitely never struck me as dodgy.
However, if anything untoward has happened to you, sorry to hear it

That's not a shame mate, that's common sense.

In the interest of fairness i should clear up the situation. The person in question has now got back to me and will be sending me the records. The lack of communication was down to her being away for sometime. She has also apologised so fair enough i reckon. Thanks to all of you for your comments.
Peace

Thanks mate! although now i feel a bit bad about posting this in the first place! even though i did it for honest reasons. It did raise some good points though from other members, so perhaps the post did some good after all...
