Cubase will work with Reason through Rewire, works well for bouncing audio out and working on the fly *when your mixing desk is working

you get the benifits and fleibility of using VST pluggins. the biggest help is with the effects, which I found limiting in Reason, tho tbh once I moved to cuebase reason soon got discarded completly.

...Although I still use the sampler and sometime the Thor in Reason, I'm finding myself only using Cubase now.

I've used cubase since v3 on the atari st. I've only recently started using reason. That said reason is great for getting ideas down quick but it's lack of audio input makes editing acapella's to a track for instance pretty convoluted. Especially without recycle. Running reason through rewire and chopping the vocal up in cubase is just so simple. There are many ways to be extra creative with cubase from reinforcing bass drums, layering up bass lines etc etc. Then there's the extra fx available from vst's or vst instruments. And then what about mixdown. Record each reason instrument onto a seperate track in cubase and eq and effect your heart out. Once you've got a final mix even that can be edited again in cubase by using mastering plugins etc to finish it off properly.

Dunno if you know this but you can solo a track in Reason and save as wav to resample if you like.

Do you do what the bloke above said? save tracks to work on in Cubase, what processing do you do in Cubase?

Whatever you like, plug-ins mainly, eqing / limiting etc

Yeh I get you.
I got Waves plugins to try out some of the limiting stuff the other day. I don't really understand it so would rather just try and put my time into being creative and leave that shit to the pros

Yeh I have read enough about it. It distracts me too much tho tbh.
Best way is just make it sound good for me using things I understand well:D
